Atlantic Health System is Seeking an Advanced Practice Clinician for Gastroenterology in Pompton Plains, New Jersey
Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare systems, is seeking an Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) to join Atlantic Medical Group GI at Pompton Plains. As the Gastroenterology APC, you will provide patient care, diagnose conditions, and conduct diagnostic tests and procedures in an outpatient setting. There will be occasional inpatient responsibilities. The APC will collaborate closely with the gastroenterology team, coordinate care with other providers, and maintain high-quality patient care. This position offers great work/life balance with a Monday-Friday schedule, and no weekends or call.
Responsibilities
Advocate for patients, family members, and nursing personnel
Support policy and services that advocate for patient rights and optimal environments of healthcare
Develop plans of care and implementation of treatment
Perform evidence-based interventions consistent with patient/family needs
Evaluate effectiveness of interventions for resolution or preventing patient care problems
Document appropriately in the medical record; discharge summaries for distribution to collaborating and referring physicians
Manage and assist to meet health education needs of patient and families
Initiate consultation and referrals to appropriate specialty providers when indicated
Collaborate with other disciplines in consultation, teaching, management, and research activities to improve outcomes in nursing practice and enhance the healthcare environment
Prioritize daily tasks and assignments
Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes
Engage in critical analysis of own practice experience and the medical literature for the purposes of self and practice improvement
Pursue and participate in formal and independent learning activities to enhance knowledge, clinical competency, and professional development

Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
ACLS and BLS certification required
New graduates are encouraged to apply
1-2 years’ experience in GI or other medical subspecialty is preferred
