Job title: Project Manager, Application Services

Location: Pontiac, Michigan (hybrid, 2-3 days/week onsite required )

Duration/terms: long term W2 contract with benefits ( no C2C )

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join their team. As a Project Manager, you will be part of the Application Services team supporting a variety of IT projects. You should be a flexible self-starter and team player, possessing both technical and interpersonal skills to align successfully with the organization.

What’s the job?

  • Manage a variety of projects, including request for proposals (RFP), contract/scope development, infrastructure upgrades, application enhancements and new development, and implementation of COTS/vendor applications with multiple integrations.

  • Identification of the technical approach to be used on a given project and manage the system development process.

  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and interact at all levels.

  • Advocate for change and effectively communicate project value, including navigating individual viewpoints and building consensus.

  • Manage scope throughout the project duration; manage detailed project tasks be interfacing with team members, correlating work to a work breakdown structure, and ensuring team members track time appropriately to project tasks.

  • Manage tasks and resources related to support, maintenance, and enhancements of existing applications.

  • Potential areas of assignment with duties described above: HR, Finance, Purchasing, Auditing & Fiscal, eCommerce, Legal, Records Retention & Management

What’s needed?

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT Project Management with successful experience managing a variety of project including request for proposals (RFP), contract/scope development, infrastructure upgrades, application enhancements and new development, and implementation of COTS/vendor applications with multiple integrations.

  • Knowledge of CA Clarity Portfolio Management (Workbench), MS Project, Azure DevOps, MS Visio, MS Office Suite, O365

  • Should possess high level understanding in the areas of project management methodology, web application programming, content management systems, API, database, and system design.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including developers, product owners, and subject matter experts.

  • Must be flexible and able to meet deadlines set by external agencies to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.
