The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for an Systems Engineer - Safety to join our team. *This position is 100% onsite and no remote or hybrid is available at this time. *

The Systems Engineer - Safety will perform:

  • System Safety Analysis and Planning
  • Safety Assessment Reporting
  • Fault Tree Generation
  • Functional Hazard Assessments
  • Failure Modes Effects Analysis
  • Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis
  • Maintainability Program Plans and Procedures
  • Software considerations for aerospace systems
  • Airborne electronic hardware evaluation
  • Reliability Engineering principles

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, preferred but not required Systems, Mechanical or Electrical
  • 5+ years of experience in safety principles
  • Experience in conducting system safety analysis including fault tree creation, system hazard analysis, FMEA and FMECA generation, reliability disciplines and failure investigations
  • Knowledge and practice using MIL-STD-882, DI-SAFT-80102, and/or SAE ARP4761
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1629, DI-SESS-81495, SAE ARP5580 (SAE ARP4754) and/or ASTM F3230
  • Construction of fault analysis per SAE ARP926 or similar
  • Experience in completing Reliability Engineering principles including Markov analysis, Weibull analysis (fleet risk assessment), reliability allocations and predictions, maintainability procedures, LORA (Level of Repair Analysis), Etc.
  • Possess a working knowledge of gas turbine engines with an intermediate to advanced knowledge of turbomachinery failure modes
  • Comprehension of electro-mechanical components and Electrical and Mechanical Engineering principles
  • Ability to assess system designs for maintainability and develop work instructions
  • Knowledge of gas turbine engine hardware and associated manufacturing techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient using of Microsoft Office tools
  • U. S. citizenship is required
  • Position may require the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S. Salary Range: $120,000 - $170,000
