Job Overview - Jim's Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Customer Service Representative and Certified Mastectomy and Compression Garment Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, caregivers, or family members, providing exceptional service and support regarding their healthcare needs for durable medical equipment and supplies, post mastectomy services and supplies including breast prosthesis and bras, as well as measuring to ensure proper fit for prosthesis, prosthesis garments and lymphedema garments. Your expertise in medical terminology and patient care will be essential in ensuring a positive experience for our patients while facilitating effective communication and follow up with them and healthcare providers. Responsibilities -
- Respond to patient inquiries via phone, or in-person, addresing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Data entry of patient intake information including demographics and insurance.
- Interpretation of physician orders and chart notes.
- Provide information on durable medical equipment, supplies, and insurance coverage to assist patients in understanding their options.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to accurately document patient interactions and relay information to healthcare professionals.
- Instruct patient, caregiver and/or family member on the correct use and safety features regarding durable medical equipment & supplies.
- Ordering of durable medical equipment and supplies and mastectomy and lymphedema compression garments.
- Perform patient assessments, document plans of care for future follow up, update patient filed in computer system. Treatment plans must be formulated to fulfill BOC specifications.
- Schedule fitting appointments and maintain appointments in a timely manner.
- Measure patients for Mastectomy products, lymphedema garments according to BOC specifications including selection and fit, identifying best fit, style and brand for patient's needs.
- Maintain inventory levels.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate seamless patient service and care coordination.
- Support coding processes by accurately documenting services rendered and ensuring proper billing practices.
- Properly relaying information to patient, caregiver or family member on all documented paperwork needed in order to dispense and bill insurance when applicable.
- Complete transactions through point-of-sale system and maintain patient confidentiality. Willing to send the right candidate for post mastectomy fitters training and certification. Must pass drug screening and background check.
