OPS FOOD SUPPORT WORKER

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Ability and willingness to lift 50 pounds.

  • Ability and willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, if necessary.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Experience working in dietary at a long-term care facility.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION :

  • The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Food Service Administrator and ensure that food is stored, prepared, distributed, and served under sanitary conditions.

  • Maintain dish room, serving area, dining room, and food storage areas in an orderly and sanitary condition.

  • Complete assigned cleaning tasks.

  • Assist in the preparation of meals as assigned, pull and pre-prep foods as assigned, help setup, and serve all meals.

  • Must have knowledge of the equipment, procedures and techniques used in cooking, baking, and/or meat cutting.

  • Ability to read and follow recipes and/or other instructions.

  • Record all temperatures in the temperature book (food and equipment).

  • Report any faulty equipment to the supervisor.

  • Assist with placing food items on serving lines and keep serving lines well stocked.

  • Maintain, check, and control kitchen inventory to determine quantities available as well as amounts needed for operations.

  • Assist with purchase requests for food, cleaning supplies, utensils, pots, pans, dishes, and paper products needed in the kitchen.

  • Verify incoming shipments and receipts in the absence of stock person.

  • Check in and put away stock items off the delivery trucks.

  • Rotate stock throughout (dry storage, refrigerators, and freezers).

  • Ensure all equipment is turned off properly and that all doors are locked at night prior to leaving.

  • Maintain chemical room clean and organized with everything off the floor.

  • Replenish all hand soap and paper towel dispensers filled throughout the kitchen and food service restroom.

  • Attends in-service training and performs other duties as assigned.

    This position is in the Other Personnel Service (OPS) system.
