Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Manager Field Engineering Services 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Port Hueneme, CA.

What You'll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will be responsible for daily operations of a team or work unit (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, day to day workflow, and operating costs).

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • This leadership position is responsible for leading a diverse and innovative team in identifying, analyzing, testing and integrating manufacturing processes and systems within a portfolio of current and next generation products at the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Mission Package Support Facility (MPSF).

  • Leadership characteristics and people engagement is of the upmost importance, with an ability to exhibit professionalism and create a team working and learning environment.

  • Communication is paramount, with an ability to clearly define expectations and work thru complex interpersonal interactions across functions and levels including direct reports, peers, and leadership.

  • Willingness to step-up and assume accountability when the perception of need exists, and an ability to accomplish tasks in a positive manner while managing multiple projects at the same time with varying levels of technical maturity.

  • This position has approximately 20 direct reporting engineers and engineering technicians with the responsibility to manage and plan detailed schedules through multiple funding streams, & ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

  • Responsible to attract and retain the best possible “athletes” for the stated requirements, ensure robust processes, and the development of future emerging leaders within the organization. Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with company and government regulations.

  • Position requires outstanding written and oral communication skills with a high level of internal and external engagement, acting as an advisor to individual contributors, senior management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a Leadership role or a Master's Degree and 6 years of experience may be considered. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree

  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a government maintenance or operations/assembly environment

  • Current access to LCS Class program

  • Demonstrate knowledge of CSMP Management

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of Manufacturing, Program Management, Engineering, Functional Support Management, and all other business personnel.

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Prior experience leading engineering technicians/logistics

  • Must have advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and the ability to effectively communicate with various levels of leadership

  • Must be available to work any shift

  • Travel 10 - 25%

  • Demonstrated history leading and management of multi-functional teams

Salary Range: $125,500 - $188,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
