What you will do:

Develop a Manufacturing Excellence roadmap to transform multiple business units across the Medical franchise to position manufacturing as a competitive advantage for Stryker. This will include managing a portfolio of projects driving breakthrough performance improvements across strategic KPIs in safety, quality, productivity and cost; leading the efforts of the lean lighthouse, VSM, TPI and kaizen roadmaps; and developing talent and core competencies that support strategy execution and ingrain daily CI behaviors in our culture. Additionally, this role will collaborate with Global Manufacturing sharing best practices and implementing continuous improvement standards. Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize design and process for manufacturability. Utilizes CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model plant layouts, and material flow. Serves as lean champion across the extended value chain from order entry to customer delivery in pursuit of manufacturing excellence.

  • Drives lean to further our path to become a world-class value chain partner and ensures site and functional objectives align to GQO Manufacturing Excellence strategy

  • Leads and facilitates continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/6S methodologies and tools with cross functional teams from inception through implementation of recommendations and solutions

  • Leads and facilitates Gemba walks, coaching on continuous improvement, standard work development/modification/adherence, piece flow, takt time attainment, and problem solving abnormalities causing issues

  • Assists in Business Unit Labor Modeling by leading teams to evaluate production layouts, time studies and productivity standards

  • Develops value stream maps and conducts/facilitates value stream analyses at plant(s) and unit(s) levels

  • Manages portfolio of projects for the site and tracks and communicates performance to commitments through standard PMO

  • Provides communication and coaches employees and leaders on the direction of Lean Transformation and daily management initiatives to drive lean behaviors

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related field

  • 10+ years of Manufacturing experience

  • Direct team management experience

  • 8+ years of Continuous Improvement and/or Engineering leadership experience including familiarity with Toyota Production Systems/ LEAN and value stream mapping

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree

  • Lean kaizen facilitation

  • Medical device or automotive experience

  • Project Management Certification

  • Six Sigma Certification
