\ HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES - SOCIAL SERVICES DIVISION\ \ SHELTER ATTENDANT (Homeless Services Center) * Multiple shifts available*\ \ Come #dogoodworkwithus! Work 3 days a week with all the benefits of a full-time position with the City! This is a position at the state\'s largest homeless shelter and related overflow sites and operates out of the Homeless Services Center located at 654 Riverside Street in Portland.\ \ Duties include:\ *\ Welcoming and registering homeless men and women in need of shelter.\ Inputting required data into an online data system.\ Monitoring dorms, common areas and shelter grounds.\ Frequent cleaning of dorms, common areas, bathrooms and grounds is required.\ The position also involves crisis intervention and triage for over 200 clients per night.\ Position includes rotation to multiple stations each shift, including walking up and down flights of stairs and between multiple facilities.\ Also includes set up and take down of dormitories, including moving of mats, cots, chairs, tables, full laundry bags and other items as required.\ \ *Requirements:\ *\ Positive attitude with exceptional patience.\ Customer service skills required.\ Experience working in a homeless shelter.\ A valid Class C Maine Driver\'s License preferred.\ \ *Available Shifts:\ *\ Full Time (37.5 Hours/Week), Permanent Positions, The schedule for these positions are:\ \ Sunday - Tuesday 7:00 pm - 8:00 am\ Sunday - Tuesday 7:00 am - 8:00 pm\ Thursday - Saturday 07:00 pm - 8:00 am\ Thursday - Saturday 07:00 am - 8:00 pm\ Monday - Wednesday 07:00 pm - 08:00 am\ Monday - Wednesday 07:00 am - 08:00 pm\ In addition, a monthly two - hour staff meeting is required.\ \ *Applications accepted until filled\ *\ Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.\ \ *Salary & Benefits:\ *\ This is a union position, CEBA (Grade 9), Starting at \$19.54/hr.\ \ The City of Portland prides itself on its outstanding benefits and collegial and mission-driven work environment.
