MAINTENANCE WORKER II Solid Waste

Public Works Department - Solid Waste Division

Up to \$2,500 sign on bonus available and NEW RATE INCREASE -

Schedule is Monday thru Friday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM

The Public Works Department is seeking qualified applicants to join the Solid Waste team. Successful applicants must be able to work holidays and some Saturdays and when called in for winter operations.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate the ability to operate and maintain Solid Waste equipment including rubbish packers, recycling trucks, roll-off trucks.
  • Must also have ability to operate and maintain winter equipment including dump trucks and front-end loaders as required.
  • Applicants must possess good visual acuity for driving and physical strength, agility and stamina necessary to withstand exposure to adverse climatic conditions.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and members of the public.
  • Must possess valid Maine Class B drivers license (must provide license number).
  • Must pass pre-employment medical exam and fitness assessment and pass federally mandated drug test.
  • Must have and maintain good driving record.

Salary:

This is a union position, Labor & Trades, Grade 17CDL - Pay rate starting at \$25.13/hr.
