Maintenance Worker III, Streets & Sidewalks

NEW WAGE INCREASE plus up to \$2,500 Sign On Bonus Available!

Seeking motivated individuals to perform a variety of skilled maintenance work on City streets and sidewalks and during winter operations.

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of the functions and operating methods of a wide variety of light and heavy construction equipment.
  • Ability to operate equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Ability to make minor repairs.
  • Good visual acuity for driving and physical strength, agility and stamina necessary to withstand exposure to adverse climatic conditions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and members of the public.
  • Must have good customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work outside in all elements of weather.
  • Must be willing to work mandatory overtime during winter period.
  • Must possess valid Maine Class B drivers license.
  • Must undergo a pre-employment medical exam and lift assessment and pass federally mandated drug test if applicant holds Class A or B license.
  • Must have and maintain a good driving record.

Salary & Benefits:

This is a union position, Labor & Trades (Grade 18) - \$1030.00/wk. (\$25.75/hr.) to \$1,093.20/wk. (\$27.33/hr.) based on qualifications and years of experience.
