WorkSource Oregon Auto Body Technician in PORTLAND, Oregon

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Auto Body Technician to join our team at Professional Auto Body & Paint Inc. The candidate should have skills in auto body repair, painter\'s assistance, welding, and mechanics. Your main responsibility will be to assess and perform repairs to restore vehicles to their pre-accident condition. You will help uphold our company\'s commitment to speed, quality, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Perform complete disassembly of vehicles to assist estimators in creating a 100% repair plan. Inspect and assess vehicle damage to determine necessary repairs. Identify all needed repairs to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time. Plan and follow work procedures according to the repair plan. Remove upholstery, accessories, and operating equipment to access damaged areas, storing parts safely to prevent damage. Repair damaged bodies by hammering, filling dents, welding, and replacing panels to industry standards. Operate various hand and power tools (e.g., welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, spray guns). File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces before turning the vehicle over to the paint department. Repair or replace defective parts and perform daily tasks like bodywork, frame straightening, welding, and panel replacement. Fabricate parts as necessary to restore vehicle integrity. Perform auto glass replacement and sheet metal repairs or modifications. Test drive repaired vehicles to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion. Perform additional duties as assigned and comply with all company safety and operating procedures. Skills and Qualifications: I-CAR Gold Class and ASE certification preferred but not required. Ability to read, understand, and execute written instructions accurately and consistently. Team-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing time effectively. Strong ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Independent thinker with excellent attention to detail. Multitasking capabilities and a proactive attitude. Great organizational skills and resourcefulness. Accountable, reliable, and willing to learn and grow. Passion for excellence in all tasks. Compensation: Pay depends on experience and is subject to increase based on performance and growth. Why Join Us?
