Actalent Automotive Technician in Portland, Oregon

We are hiring an Automotive Technician (Software Validation Technician specifically) for an opportunity supporting an automotive manufacturer. You will be a part of a team in support of the building of prototype electrical and/or autonomous vehicles. If you have strong electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical skills in building, diagnosis, and troubleshooting, and you have a passion for sustainable electric and/or cutting-edge vehicle technology, this job is for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret current software configurations on the Test Fleet Vehicle pool.

  • Execute vehicle software flashing via End of Line programming system.

  • Execute vehicle software flashing via manual updates, including determining and working with engineering to support.

  • Record all software sets and parameters.

  • Create and track issue tickets related to failed software flashing.

  • Communicate with engineering and PVE fleet management teams regarding actions and next steps.

  • Coordinate vehicle software and parameter finalization and shakedown.

  • Gather feedback and actions from shakedown, including faults, and drive updates to completion.

  • Develop proficiency in software/CAN tools for vehicle troubleshooting.

  • Participate in and pass all relevant training.
