Actalent Electrical Engineer in Portland, Oregon

Description:

Project team leadership and discipline management, completing projects on time within budget

Hold responsibility for the preparation of deliverable documents including narratives, calculations, drawings and specifications

Attend client meetings, lead the coordination effort between external and internal project teams

Develop client relationships

Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete a project from concepts through construction

Participate in calculations and equipment selection, utilizing advanced understanding of the application of building codes and electrical industry standards

Perform site visits and issues reports

Develop project workplans, tasks and assignments for the team

Provide updates to master specifications and standards, and improve company processes

Engineering application of distribution Load Flow, Short Circuit and Arc Flash Energy analysis using Easy Power

Collaborate closely with design teams, Engineers, Project Managers, and stakeholders to address specific objectives, complex features, and propose viable solutions to unique challenges.

Facilitate seamless coordination among various design disciplines (Mechanical, Structural, Architectural, etc.) to fulfill design package requirements.

Conduct field verifications and site assessments to identify, verify, resolve, and integrate solutions into design packages, troubleshooting design issues during construction as necessary.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

Relevant professional credential (EIT or PE)

Electrical work experience specific to the AEC/ Built environment industry

Proficiency in electrical system distribution, lighting and power system design

Thorough understanding of interdisciplinary coordination

Advanced understanding of electrical engineering concepts, able to effectively communicate design options

Able to assemble and run a team

Strong delegation skills

Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills

Microsoft Office Suite
