Our client is a leading healthcare company with an urgent need for an Outside Referral Coordinator in Portland, OR. This position is part-time to start (anticipating 30 hours per week, schedule is Mon-Thursday), but could evolve as the program develops. This is a 5-month temporary assignment, but could extend based on performance. The ideal candidate has 1+ years of experience in a medical office setting, with knowledge of Epic, diagnostic codes, and medical terminology. This role will be 100% onsite to start.

salary: $23 - $26 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

• Reviews and processes requests for outside (out of network) medical care

• Verify eligibility, coverage, benefits, confirm provider status, maintain compliance timeframes for requests.

• Call patients to educate them about a program they are elgible for to help them with social health needs, and then processing enrollment.

• Assigning patients to a Community Health Worker and coordinating the introduction.

• Epic/HealthConnect experience is a plus

• Data entry (documenting enrollment)

• Interviewing patients over the phone

• Top 3 skills required: Interpersonal communication, attention to detail, ability to follow directions
