WorkSource Oregon Senior Hydraulics Project Engineer in PORTLAND, Oregon

Otak, Inc. is seeking to hire a Senior Hydraulics Project Engineer to join the Water and Natural Resources team in our Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA office. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play an essential role in supporting a wide range of project initiatives, including bridge and culvert hydraulics, floodplain permitting, stream, river, and estuary restoration, and barrier removal and fish passage projects. Bring your in-depth knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, along with a solid background in hydraulic design, to our growing team! To learn more about Otak\'s WNR team and projects, please watch the following video: https://www.otak.com/otaks-wnr-team/ What you\'ll do: Provide technical excellence and thought leadership in the areas of bridge hydraulics scour countermeasure design, river mechanics, channel stability, sediment transport, and floodplain permitting. Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling. Conduct design calculations. Prepare construction documents in support of transportation projects. Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. Create design and permitting reports. Collect and analyze data. Prepare studies and master plans. Prepare technical approaches/scope, schedule, and budgets for proposals. Assist in assigning duties and schedules to team member. Mentor and evaluate team members\' work. Perform construction engineering and observation. What you bring: Master\'s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources or Hydraulic Engineering, or similar discipline is preferred. Minimum of 8 years of Project Engineering experience in hydraulic engineering or related field. Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Adept with the application of water resources models such as HEC-RAS and SRH2D. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD or MicroStation. Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple projects with simultaneous deadlines in a multi-discipline environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
