Portland General Electric Senior / Principal Data Governance Analyst in Portland, Oregon

Data Governance / Enterprise Data Management
Duties/responsibilities:
Establish and operationalize the Power Operations data governance program:
Data Governance Charter (mission, principles, scope)
PACE model & governance structure (sponsors, stewards, etc)
Operational model (cadence, escalation, decision model)
Oversee the creation of key Data Governance deliverables
Data glossary
Data lineage
Data Ownership
Data flow diagrams
Process diagrams
Represent Power Operations within Enterprise Data Management
Facilitate data quality issues (knowledge of Incident & Problem Management)
Facilitate business working sessions to establish current state and future state improvements
Characteristics:
Superior organization and written communication skills
Proficient in organizational change management or project management, especially interfacing with and winning support from operational stakeholders
Familiarity with energy markets, ISO/RTOs, power transmission scheduling (eTags or OASIS)
Familiarity with financial processes (settlement, financial reporting) and financial system best practices
Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle, and other IT change management best practices in order to collaborate with technical data custodians
Ability to question the current state of existing data quality and data models;, should have an investigative mindset
Ability to influence without authority
Software:
Calibra, Alation or other data management tool
Visio or equivalent schematic or documentation software
Tableau or other data visualization software
Snowflake or similar cloud-computing based data software
Education/Experience/Certifications
Education Requires a bachelor’s degree in business or other related field or equivalent experience.
Experience Typically eight or more years in related field.

Compensation Range:
$87,225.00 - $173,875.00
Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
