Purpose:**

Following a medically prescribed physical therapy program, evaluates, treats and educates pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients who have disabilities, traumatic injuries, pain, disease or any dysfunction, and helps them reach their maximum performance and assume a place in their community while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the age of the patient served in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. *

*Education and Experience Requirements: *

Graduated from an accredited physical therapy school with a B.S./M.S./DPT degree.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Willingness to extend self as needed to meet the needs of the patient and department

**

License, Registration, or Certification Requirements:

Active New York State License or eligible with a temporary permit

Working Conditions:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
