As a Jockey Driver associate, you’ll play a crucial role in yard management by accurate and timely transfer of trailers to and from holding and processing areas.

  • D: 6:00pm - 6:00am (Thurs-Sat) 12:00am – 6:00am (Wed)

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operates jockey truck transferring trailers to and from the processing area. The task requires maneuvering in and out of the vehicle up to a height of 4 feet every 1/2 hour.

  • Ensures that trailers are processed in the order designated by management.

  • Ensures that YMS (Yard Management System) is updated and policy followed. Keeping the yard organized and in order.

  • Performs pre-op inspection of vehicle and post-op cleaning on a daily basis.

  • Yard checks are done periodically. Communicates with the gate, the dock office and management.

Minimum Education

  • High School or equivalent preferred but not required.

Experience Requirements

  • Reading and writing skills required.

  • At least 1 year of continuous work experience in similar role using similar equipment

  • Must have a valid Class D drivers license.

  • Must obtain and maintain powered industrial truck license through company training

Experience Preferred

  • 2+ years’ experience in a distribution warehouse preferred.

  • Valid CDL License

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to Work outdoors year round in seasonal temperatures

  • May be exposed to noise ranges up to 96.2 db

  • May be exposed to light intensity of less than 5' candles.

When in a plant environment:

  • Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

  • Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs by reaching, bending, and pushing boxes.

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required.

  • May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 25 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • May handle product varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.

  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
