The ESG Regulatory Compliance Specialist, is responsible for the evaluation and management of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, alongside the interpretation, implementation, and administration of emerging ESG regulations. The ideal candidate will support Integra's ESG compliance efforts by overseeing policies, procedures, disclosure requirements, and technology systems, and by collaborating with business leaders to identify and mitigate financial, operational, legal, regulatory, and reputational risks.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for continuously monitoring the global regulatory landscape for new and evolving ESG-related regulations, such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), EU Deforestation Regulation, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals), Conflict Minerals legislation, and other relevant global standards. Upon identifying new regulations, the candidate will evaluate their applicability to the business, coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely integration into the company's operations, and oversee the compliance process by acting as a project manager to align efforts across departments. This includes ensuring that functional teams such as Procurement, Supply Chain, and Product Development complete the necessary compliance work-such as data collection, risk assessments, and paperwork-on time and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
As the subject matter expert, the candidate will lead the development and execution of risk assessments, document processes and workflows, and provide continuous operational and regulatory recommendations. Your role will be critical in ensuring Integra not only complies with current regulations but also remains proactive in adapting to new requirements, protecting the organization from potential risks, and fostering a culture of compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor, interpret, and assess the applicability of global ESG regulations, ensuring timely integration into company operations.
Develop and manage ESG compliance programs, including policies, procedures, and reporting frameworks, to ensure adherence to regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business leaders to mitigate financial, operational, legal, regulatory, and reputational risks.
Act as a project manager for compliance efforts, coordinating with functional teams to ensure timely and effective implementation of regulatory requirements.
Oversee technology systems for data management and reporting, leveraging tools such as AI to simplify and streamline data acquisition and analysis.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, document workflows, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance compliance efforts.
Lead the evaluation and adoption of innovative tools and methodologies to handle and analyze vast amounts of data effectively.
Drive initiatives that promote a culture of proactive compliance and continuous improvement within the organization.
Maintain and publish a dashboard to indicate risk/mitigation to the business and keep senior leadership informed.
Participate in the Decarbonization steering committee and lead monthly meetings to review new regulations to determine appropriate department responsibility for ensuring compliance.
Partner with other regulatory teams to categorize regulations and align compliance responsibilities with expertise areas.
Ensure that regulation requirements are met on time as required by government agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position.
Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business, Sustainability, or a related discipline (experience may be substituted).
Proven expertise in program management, with the ability to design, implement, and oversee comprehensive compliance initiatives.
Strong background in regulatory compliance, particularly in ESG-related areas such as CBAM, EU Deforestation Regulation, and REACH.
Demonstrated ability to handle large volumes of complex data efficiently and effectively, utilizing advanced tools and systems, including AI.
Familiarity with ESG reporting standards such as GRI, SASB, and TCFD.
Experience exploring and adopting new technologies to enhance compliance processes.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively in a global organization.
Ability to plan and execute monitoring activities independently, creating clear project plans that identify objectives, scope, and approach.
Excellent business and subject matter knowledge related to export control and sanctions laws, including a working understanding of globally aligned regulations.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proven experience in project management and change management to support effective enhancement of operations.
Analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills, capable of assessing risks and delivering practical compliance solutions.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Ability to work in a matrix team environment and work independently.
5+ years of relevant experience in a global or multinational organization with exposure to diverse regulatory environments.
Experience in a multi-national manufacturing and distribution organization, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Oracle preferred, Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
Project management certifications such as PMP preferred.
Strong background and exposure to compliance-related monitoring and auditing, as well as systems development.
Additional details :
This role is hybrid between Princeton, NJ and remote. Office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
