Dover Corp. Project Engineer in Princeton, New Jersey

Sys-Tech is looking for a Project Engineer to help design and configure solutions based on customer specific requirements and agreed specifications, perform testing of the configured solution, solution technical documentation and store in designated folder. The Project Engineer supports the Solution Delivery Engineers during installations until completion of the customer agreed configured solution. This individual supports the Solution Architect and the Project Manager in reviewing of the technical specifications, efforts required and in liaising with customers and OEM partners whenever required., a solutions division of Markem-Imaje, provides digital product authentication and traceability solutions to combat counterfeiting, prevent diversion and meet regulatory compliance.

What you will do:

  • Review of the final Functional Specifications before starting design and configuration; escalate to immediate manager/PM for any issue.
  • Strategically execute the project engineering process and activities aligned with the agreed project plan set by PM in JIRA and NetSuite OpenAir, ensure that development and configuration time budget meet expectation.
  • Escalate out of scope request to immediate manager for approval.
  • Utilize Standard Solution Packages as the starting point for configuration or project engineering work on all customer projects; and build a packaging integration module "PIM" for new non-standard configured solution.
  • Responsible for performing in-house verification of the configured solutions.
  • Build the Detailed Design Specification documentation required based on project deliverables and store in JIRA/designated shared folder.
  • Handover of the configured solution for review and validation with Service Delivery Engineer
  • Creation and delivery of the hand off package for customer support.
  • Support escalated installation, FAT and SAT issues.
  • Contribute to the Project Engineers standards and specific projects.

What you will Bring:

  • Bachelor or comparable degree in Engineering (Electrical, Software, Computer, or Automation)
  • 3+ years' experience with packaging line equipment, preferably in pharmaceutical and/or food packaging industries.
  • Proven track record of developing, testing, and installing solutions across multiple sites and or countries.
  • Engineering background in PC systems. PLC knowledge a plus.
  • Experience in developing software solutions, able to test, install and validate performance against project deliverables.
  • Understanding of software development and service delivery methodology.
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD, MS Visio, and flow documentation tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts with troubleshooting skills.
  • Direct customer interface experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Workflow or Visual Basic process flow programming tool
  • Communication with PLC systems and OPC
  • MS SQL OS (Preferred but not essential), Windows OS

Travel:

  • The position involves approximately 10% of travel, on average
  • This involves traveling to customer sites, possibly involving air travel. Initially travel will be higher, 50%-75%, for the first few whilst in training.

Work Arrangement: Onsite initially in Princeton, NJ facility.
