Brown University Intramural and Club Sports Coordinator in Providence, Rhode Island

Job Description:

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for Intramural and Club Sports Coordinator position. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-DI).

The Intramural & Club Sport Coordinator will work closely with the Intramural & Club Sport Manager and other professional staff in the areas of Fitness and Recreation. The primary function of this position will be to assist in the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of Intramural & Club Sports for the entire Brown University Community – students, faculty, staff, and outside members.

Education

· Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· 1-2 years related experience.

· Some officiating experience and/or experience training officials for a variety of intramural sports, preferred.

· Prior experience working with recreation software (Fusion, IMLeagues, etc.).

· Familiarity and experience with intramural/recreational programing software, preferred.

· Demonstrated ability to independently manage competing priorities.

· Demonstrated leadership skills.

· Strong organizational, administrative, time management and computer skills.

· Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment.

· Demonstrated ability to work with and relate well to students.

· Demonstrated customer service-oriented experience and skills.

· Must be CPR/AED and First Aid Certified, or obtain certification within 3 months of start of employment.

· Knowledge of Collegiate Sport Club National Governing Bodies (NGB) policies & procedures.

· Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a multi-tasking environment while maintaining careful attention to detail.

· Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.

· The successful candidate for this position will be required to complete criminal background and DMV checks satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.

All department employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League and ECAC rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the department are to be reported to the appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions are required to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test and maintain current AED/CPR certification (certification is available at no cost through the Athletic Department).
