Overview

Plans, coordinates, and provides overall supervision to Instrumentation and Regulation personnel engaged in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the gas supply pressure regulation system. Schedules, tracks, completes, and documents all mandatory monthly and annual system checks and inspections required to maintain compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 49 CFR Part 192 as regulated by the RI Division of Public Utilities Commission. Ensure achievement of goals and objectives consistent with the Company direction including accountability of public and employee safety and O&M budgetary control.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day scheduling of personnel and work assignments.

  • Supervise bargaining unit personnel, provide coaching and foster team building to effectively and efficiently accomplish required tasks.

  • Ensure the safe operation and reliability of the gas supply pressure regulation distribution system.

  • Maintain all instrumentation and regulation components, equipment, and systems, including telemetry equipment, regulators, valves, heaters, odorization systems, chromatographs, relief valves and filters.

  • Ensure that all Instrumentation and Regulation work performed adheres to Company Policies and Procedures.

  • Responsible for workplace safety to ensure safe working conditions are maintained through field inspection of work sites and equipment to protect the safety, health, and wellbeing of employees, contractors, customers, and the public.

  • Administer necessary Human Resource related tasks and ensure compliance with required company critical training and task specific Operator Qualification training.

  • Should possess quality labor relation skills to interpret contract language, resolve grievances and discipline cases, initiate and institute corrective action where necessary.

  • Must maintain I&R required operator qualifications.

  • Assumes on-call supervisory assignments as required.

Qualifications

  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree and / or related field operations work experience will be considered. Prior leadership positions or previous roles within Gas Construction, Gas Field Operations and Customer Meter Services are a plus.

  • Preferred technical knowledge of gas distribution systems, engineering, gas utility construction and maintenance practices, or knowledge of state and federal gas codes.

  • Applicant must exhibit proven supervisory skills. The ability to work effectively in a team environment is Required. The candidate must demonstrate exceptional commitment to ethics and safety.

  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills with the proven ability to maximize performance of others as well as solid planning and organizing skills.

  • Requires the following competencies: Focused on safety, Customer oriented, advancing innovation and technology, concern for the environment, increasing efficiencies, drive for results, adaptability, thrives under pressure, demonstrate and promote teamwork.

Remote Work
