In this temporary position (approximately one year) as a Student Accounts Specialist, you'll play a vital role in supporting our students and their families, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance to meet their academic objectives. Working closely with the Student Accounts Manager, you will contribute to smooth operations and student satisfaction.

 

In addition to accurate billing, comprehensive account analysis, and clear communication regarding student and employee accounts, this position will also assist in managing certain collection processes.

*What you'll do in this position: *

  • Assist the Student Accounts Manager in managing financial transactions associated with student and employee accounts. 
  • Serve as the main point of contact for inquiries regarding 529 education savings plans.  
  • Work closely with students who have taken out short-term loans, offering guidance and ensuring timely payment by the semester's due date.
  • Oversee the collections process for accounts that are 60-90 days overdue, delivering exceptional customer service and addressing concerns and inquiries with utmost care and professionalism.
  • Manage the monthly billing statement process for accounts that are delinquent.
  • Provide backup support to student employees with tasks like returned payments, refunds, and statements.

What qualifies you for this role:

 

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU 
  • Associate's degree in a business or related field plus one year of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to interact effectively.
  • Basic understanding in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
