Dental Treatment Plan Specialist, Pulaski

Description

To coordinate patient treatment plans including, but not limited to, pre authorizations, referrals, estimates and payment plans.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Knowledge of full processes for dental pre-authorizations and referrals

  2. Daily review of open referrals to ensure timely completion

  3. Manage tasks in Intergy and Mediadent systems

  4. Ability to thoroughly document all communications with patients and staff within the electronic medical/dental record

  5. Knowledge of online dental portals and electronic platform for submission of referral authorizations

  6. Ability to read x-rays and submit appropriately to insurance companies and or outside providers

  7. Ability to accurately complete an American Dental Association (ADA) claim form

  8. Knowledge of dental insurance coverage and frequencies

  9. Ability to work closely with the Billing Department, dental providers and front desk staff to coordinate patient care

  10. Send appropriate letters and communication to patients regarding pre-authorization determinations and next steps

  11. Ability to generate accurate estimates for patient responsibilities or non-covered services

  12. Appointment scheduling and communication with patients

  13. Knowledge of dental lab case procedures including logging, recording and follow-up for lab cases.

  14. Read and understand each insurance plans explanation of benefits

  15. Prepare treatment estimates and payment plans for uncovered services

  16. Assist with and promote all processes associated with the Coleman initiative

  17. Promoting Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives

  18. Ability to confidently explain treatment plans, costs, estimates to patients in real time and over the phone

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree preferred (possible for experience and or training to substitute for education)

  • Verbal and written communication skills, office applications preferred

  • Demonstrate proper judgment and decision making skills when necessary

  • Comply with the organizations code of conduct, safety rules and adheres to all company policies

  • Carry out job responsibilities in an ethical, effective and professional manner

  • Must be willing and demonstrate the ability to cooperate, work, and communicate with coworkers and supervisors

  • Must demonstrate computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite and electronic medical/dental record system

  • Must possess a willingness to accept direction from providers and supervisors; must possess the ability to work well and with compassion in stressful situations; must maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with both patients and co-workers; must be keenly aware of the importance of confidentiality in all aspects of the position

Salary Description

$16.00-$19.00/hr. Depending on Experience
