Professional Time Type: Full time Position Term: 9 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patient's psychiatric problems including crisis stabilization, medication management and coordination with health and counseling services health care providers. Required Qualifications: • A State of Washington Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license, prescriptive authority and National Certification must be obtained within one (1) year of employment. • Licensed as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Washington at the time of hire. • Certification as a CNS or NP in psychiatric/mental health. • Must possess prescriptive authority at the time of hire. • Psychiatric clinical out-patient experience. • Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working in a college health care environment or treating college aged adults. • Two (2) years work experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Psychiatrist: The Staff Psychiatrist at Cougar Health Services provides independent psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, stabilization, medication management, referral and/or mental health education to patients presenting for care at Cougar Health Services. The practice model is such that the psychiatrist evaluates, diagnose and stabilizes the patient and then refers back to the primary care physician for continuation of care. Complex patients, who fall outside the scope of practice for a primary care physician, would be maintained by the psychiatrist. Required Qualifications: • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). Completion of an accredited residency program in area of practice. Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, licensure as a doctor of medicine (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) by the State of Washington. • Unrestricted physician license in the State of Washington. • Completion of an accredited residency in psychiatry. • Board Certification/Eligibility in psychiatry . • Ability to obtain an unrestricted Federal Controlled Substance Registration (DEA). • Experience providing psychiatric treatment to young adults in an outpatient setting. • Strong written, verbal, and electronic communications skills. • Ability to obtain at least affiliate level privileges at Pullman Regional Hospital. Preferred Qualifications: • College health experience or experience treating young adults.
