Fabric Development Machine Operator in QUAKERTOWN, Pennsylvania
This employer will be on-site conducting interviews at our Multi-Industry Job & Community Resource Fair which will be held on Thursday September 12, 2024, at the Bucks County Free Library, 401 W. Mill Street, Quakertown, PA 18951. The Job Fair hours are 9:30 AM -- 12:00 PM. The machine operator may provide set up or operate machines that handle textile manufacturing processing tasks to include weaving, twisting, winding, slitting, warping or quilling.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Tasks and Work Activities
- Operators may pull yarn, thread, or fabric through needles, guides and machine rollers of equipment
- Monitor machines operations for quality defects in materials
- Start/Stop machine as needed to add fill yarn or make adjustments to ensure the machine is functioning properly
- Inspect machine to determine if repairs are needed and notify appropriate personnel.
- Process orders and check for defects and inspect products to specification on job sheet
- Follow directions and complete assignments per job order paperwork
- Support all 5S activities
- All materials supplied are maintained for the area, including yarn, tubes, etc
- Remove all yarn, etc, when the job is complete
- Participate in 5S audits
- Support the AS9100 quality management system
- Keep work area neat and clean
- Other responsibilities as required by management

Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Indoors -- This position is located in the production plant.
- The typical work day is a primarily working in the production plant
- Employee must be able to bend, stretch, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Duration of a Typical Work Week -- This position is a four(4) day work week consisting of 10 hours per day.
