Network Engineer (Secret Clearance)

KBR is seeking a highly experienced Network Engineer (Secret Clearance) to join our dynamic IT Team in Quantico, VA. In this role, you must possess a deep understanding of network infrastructure, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of managing and optimizing complex network environments. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and the ability to lead network-related projects while ensuring the highest levels of performance, security, and reliability. This is a full-time on-site position in Quantico, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development and implementation of the network infrastructure connecting Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training systems. Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level network solutions, including LAN, WAN, and VPN. Monitors network performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform network optimization to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support network integration with other IT systems and applications. Develop and maintains network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Evaluate and recommends new technologies and tools to enhance network performance and security. Leads network-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to best practices and project deadlines. Conducts network assessments and provide recommendations for improvements based on analysis. Implement and manages network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network engineering.

Basic Qualifications:

Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen. Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance.

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or advanced certification is a plus.

Experience: 8-15 years of experience in network engineering or a similar role, with a proven track record of managing large-scale network infrastructures.

Technical Expertise:

  • Advanced knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall technologies (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs).

  • Must have an understanding of DOD policy and equipment associated with establishing networks on the Secret/MTEN Black network.

  • Proficiency with network management tools and monitoring systems.

  • Hands-on experience with network security practices and technologies (e.g., VPNs, IDS/IPS, firewalls).

  • Familiarity with cloud networking solutions and hybrid environments is desirable.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to resolve network issues promptly.

  • Must be able to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders, effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+, CISSP) are highly desirable.

  • Experience with network automation and orchestration tools.

  • Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV).

  • Experience in a similar industry or organization with complex network environments.
