CUNY Academic Program Manager (HEA) in Queens, New York

Academic Program Manager (HEA)

POSITION DETAILS

Often referred to as "the jewel of the CUNY system," Queens College is a place of contrasts: an urban school in a suburban setting, where a large and diverse student body receives personalized attention. This formula has made us one of New York's premier educational institutions. With a mission to prepare students to become leading citizens of an increasingly global society, we offer a rigorous education in the liberal arts and sciences under the guidance of a faculty dedicated to both teaching and research. Our liberal arts, science and pre-professional programs earn us high rankings in prestigious college guides such as The Princeton Review America's Best Value Colleges. Our students graduate with the ability to think critically, address complex problems, explore various cultures, use modern technologies and information resources, and have won prominence in nearly every field.

Reporting to the Director of Honors and Scholarships, the Associate Director of the Honors and Scholarships department is responsible for advancing, supporting and sustaining the Honors and Scholarships Programs at Queens College.

The successful candidate will manage the overall operations of the Freshman Honors, Mellon Fellowship, Kessler Scholars, and Transfer Honors programs under the guidance of the Director of Honors and Scholarships. Their responsibilities will include supporting honors curriculum development, advising Honors and other student honor societies regarding leadership and involvement opportunities, developing on and offline program promotion materials and fostering a supportive community among honors students. In addition, the Associate Director will support the director in leading, managing and supporting the design, development, implementation and administration of policies, procedures, practices and activities related to the Honors and Scholarships department.

This professional will bring extensive experience and expertise in academic enrichment and student support, specifically tailored to the unique needs of Honors students. The Associate Director will serve as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures. The Associate Director will play a pivotal role in enhancing the educational experience and outcomes for our Honors Program participants. They will implement and monitor a comprehensive program development plan as well as make recommendations to improve department policies and procedures. The Associate Director will assist the Director with preparing analytical and statistical reports for outcome assessment and strategic planning to further develop program offerings. The Higher Education Associate will act on behalf of the Director in his/her absence. The role will also manage professional and/or clerical staff and perform related duties as assigned.
