Job Title: Analytical Chemist

Job Description

The Quality Control Chemist I will perform basic analysis for raw materials, in-process, and/or finished products in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. The responsibilities include performing wet chemistry and analytical testing to evaluate the quality of the incoming raw materials and analyze the finished product to ensure they meet high standards of quality. Report testing results through computerized systems or standard laboratory paper-based documentation. Other related duties essential to these operations or special assignments as required.

Hard Skills

• Bachelors degree in chemistry or related life science field

• 2+ years of experience in industry as a pharmaceutical chemist

• 2+ years of industry experience with wet chemistry and HPLC

• GMP experience is a must

• Basic non-instrumental wet chemistry techniques

• Manual Titrations

• pH, Conductivity

• Autotitrations

• UV-Vis, Polarimeter

Soft Skills

• Consistently adheres to safety rules

• Follows procedures and supervisor directions

• Able to function independently while asking questions as necessary

• Accepts dynamic work sequences

• Actively participates in planning discussions

• Communicates work sequence status to supervisor

• Engages in achieving QC laboratory, team, and individual goals

• Offers suggestions for improvements

• Positive influence on the QC laboratory

Work Environment

Work in the ASL chemistry lab for assigned tasks and training. Primarily work in the ASL group but may support the QC group. Training will take approximately 1 month before testing on live product.
