Actalent Electrical Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

We provide customized engineering, architectural, and construction consulting services to a diverse client base ranging from education, biopharma, industrial, and more. Our team is passionate about attention to detail on every project and being attentive to the special needs and requests of our clients to deliver superior results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical efforts on small-medium engineering projects, including development or modification of systems and processes and overseeing work of the engineering team.

  • Manage projects and serve as the electrical subject matter expert on assigned projects.

  • Prepare and manage multiple small-medium engineering projects including specification, design, cost estimates, equipment selection, acquisition, documentation, preparation, and completion.

  • Provide estimates for labor, material, and other costs for quotes and timeline development.

  • Perform detailed engineering studies covering complex topics and/or problems.

  • Write proposals for projects.

  • Represent the company at design and construction meetings.

  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior-level engineers.

  • Travel to project sites as needed to inspect and evaluate project deliverables.

  • Stay up to date on architectural, engineering, and design practices, codes, and environments.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.

  • 5+ years' experience in analyzing, designing, and planning electrical engineering systems in commercial buildings.

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).

  • Familiarity with and working knowledge of model codes and standards of care.

  • Proficient in preparing technical documents utilizing discipline-specific software (i.e., Revit, AutoCAD, SKM Power Tools, Visual Lighting, Visual Easy Power, etc.).

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and effectively work and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Knowledge of design and construction specifications.

  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics and ability to troubleshoot failures.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills; able to analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance, exercising discretion and independent judgment.

Work Environment

The office is located in a major metropolitan area, with flexibility for work-from-home as needed. Our work environment is dynamic and collaborative, with a focus on continuous learning and professional development. Dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00
