NC STATE UNIVERSITY Housekeeper in Raleigh, North Carolina

We are looking for a committedHousekeeperto join our team. This individual will be part of our group of over 320 members responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitization of more than 10 million square feet of campus space. This role primarily focuses onmaintaining cleanliness and sanitationwithin designated areas of a building. It involves utilizing standard cleaning techniques and equipment toensure a hygienic environment.Additionally, the position entails promptly addressing discrepancies within the building and responding to emergencies and adverse weather conditions.

Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performsbasic cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, disinfecting, and replenishing using standard housekeeping equipment, tools, and supplies
  • Handles the removal of recycling from centralized indoor recycling sites
  • Adheres to establishedsafety proceduresfor cleaning products, equipment, and work standards, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and promptly reporting safety concerns or incidents
  • Demonstrates knowledge of infection control,cross-contamination prevention, and healthcare cleaning processes as per specialized training
  • Completes repair inspection forms and promptly notifying the manager of broken or damaged items based on priority
  • Participates in annual training for bloodborne pathogen cleanup and ensuringmaintenanceofequipmentand tools within non-contamination hospital zones
  • Performs periodic tasks such as stripping and refinishing floors, shampooing and extracting carpets, pressure washing entrances, exterior walls, and windows, and seasonal window washing as required
  • The position must participate in specialized training such asIEHAFrontline, which is a two day program specilaizing in health care services and training on cross-contamination for the hospital andNCSUBloodborne Pathogen annual class.
  • This position will follow infection control protocol,AALAC(State inspection for vet schools), and end of day disinfection protocols and processes for cleaning medical spaces including passing any seeding performed in their area (seeding is an additional step in finalizing a clean area using a gel and blue light to confirm disinfection).
  • Position will perform snow and ice removal within a team environment during inclement weather, in addition to coordinating with coworkers during group response to emergencies. Perform team cleaning tasks and projects during breaks, and when space is accessible
