Insight Global Lead AV Technician in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is hiring a Lead AV Technician. This person will be responsible for leading the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of complex audio visual systems, ensuring the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate should have substantial technical expertise in AV system integration, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. This is a traveling role covering most of NC down to SC. A company vehicle will be provided.

Responsibilities:

 Ability to lead an installation team.

 Read, interpret, and follow AV system schematics and blueprints.

 Pull low voltage cabling through conduit and other locations.

 Terminate connectors of various connections.

 Safely and securely mount equipment such as displays, projectors, cameras, speakers, and microphones.

 Build and wire AV equipment racks.

 Troubleshoot and test equipment.

 Complete programming tasks (or demonstrate the ability to learn), including control system programming and GUI design.

 Keep company-issued van clean and organized.

 Install, terminate, and test low voltage cables and fiber optic cables as needed.

 Route cable through conduit, above ceilings, and between floors per job specifications as needed.

 Read and comprehend technical schematics, operation manuals, maintenance instructions, and procedures.

 Assemble and test equipment racks per the rack build schedule.

 Verify all cables, connectors, hardware, and tools needed for project completion are available.

 Provide technical assistance to other AV Techs when required.

Skills and Requirements

5-7 years of experience in an audio visual technician or similar role

 Strong technical knowledge of audio-visual equipment, including cameras, projectors, sound systems, lighting, and related accessories.

 Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting various audio-visual technologies and software.

 Must be able to read, understand and execute rack elevations, line/block schematics, and floor plans

 Physical stamina and ability to lift and transport heavy equipment.

 Proficiency in physically installing projection screens, display mounts, ceiling speakers, wired microphones, and equipment racks.

 Ability to run cable, use hand/power tools, and solder, crimp, and compress the vast array of AV interfaces & connectors.

 Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, Email, and Teams Relevant certifications or training in audio-visual technology

 Familiarity with brands such as Extron, Shure, NEC, and QSC

 CTS/CTS-I certification or the ability to earn it within six months null
