Siemens Energy Project Lead Engineer Systems Integration HVDC Control & Protection in Raleigh, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Project Lead Engineer Systems Integration HVDC Control & Protection you will work within a team of HVDC project management and engineering specialists to design and deliver full HVDC control and protection solutions making use of a HVDC test center located in Raleigh! You will be responsible for driving the Hardware/Software integration from requirements to the final verification and validation.

You will work with the Engineering Manager – HVDC C&P and will be required to manage engineering work packages in line with project and business objectives.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Driven collaboration with the Project Manager, Project Lead engineers as well as the project engineers

  • Analysis of the customer specification with focus on the functional requirements in view of the variations from our standard, the feasibility, and the vital tests

  • Management of the software engineering and test cycle including quality gate reviews, programme management and coordination activities

  • Driving design related topics from early software concept development through manufacturing, parametrization, testing and customer acceptance

  • Ensuring the delivery of a functional hardware and software solution which aligns with the contractual requirements to the customer

What You Bring

  • University BS degree in electrical engineering or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience in substation design, testing, and commissioning. 3+ years of experience in control and protection systems for HVDC systems as well as experience in project management.

  • Expertise in the management of software development lifecycles using LEAN and AGILE techniques

  • Fluent in English

  • Ability to actively drive topics and resolve issues as well as solid stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
