Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced RHEL/Satellite Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments using Red Hat Satellite. This role involves a variety of tasks including security, network configuration, package management, custom scripting, monitoring and logging, testing and validation, and integration with existing identity, authentication, and authorization services.

Key Responsibilities:

Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Network Configuration: Configure and manage network settings to ensure optimal performance and security.

Package Management: Manage software packages, including installation, updates, and removals using Red Hat Satellite.

Custom Scripts: Develop and maintain custom scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.

Monitoring and Logging: Set up and manage monitoring and logging systems to ensure system health and performance.

Testing and Validation: Perform testing and validation of system configurations and updates to ensure stability and reliability.

Integration: Configure integration with supported, existing client identity, authentication, and authorization services.

Provisioning: Implement modern provisioning approaches, including the definition of up to eight (8) Standard Operating Environments aligned to representative server roles and associated content.

Skills and Requirements

• Proven experience as a RHEL/Satellite Systems Administrator or similar role.

• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Satellite.

• Experience with security best practices and tools.

• Proficiency in network configuration and management.

• Expertise in package management using Red Hat Satellite.

• Ability to develop and maintain custom scripts (e.g., Bash, Python).

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Nagios, ELK Stack).

• Strong testing and validation skills.

• Experience with identity, authentication, and authorization services (e.g., LDAP, Kerberos).

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities. - Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or similar certification.

• Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). null
