Your Opportunity
The Raleigh, NC office is looking for a Senior Roadway Project Manager, to join our roadway team in North Carolina. The ideal candidate will be an experienced project manager with North Carolina roadway design expertise who can lead a team to deliver projects with the high quality our clients expect. Candidate will possess the ability to lead other senior engineers in a collaborative and professional environment to help grow and mentor younger professionals. Your Key Responsibilities
You will focus on management of roadway design projects related to transportation infrastructure. As a part of Stantec’s full-service engineering team you will successfully deliver quality plans for NCDOT, and other clients in and around North Carolina.
Serve as project manager and roadway task lead for multiple projects. Establish and track project scopes, schedules, and budgets. Projects may include multi-discipline projects where it will be necessary to engage team leads for other disciplines such as signals or structures, as well as engage and manage subconsultants.
Be the subject matter expert to apply advanced practical theoretical knowledge.
Exercise independent judgment, initiative and perform in-dept evaluation of projects to resolve complex design issues.
Lead, mentor, and inspire staff in the roadway team. Function as an active participant in team-level decision making and set an example of enthusiasm and professionalism.
Train and lead junior staff in the preparation of roadway plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation projects. Ensure proper allocation of staff based upon project and client needs.
Lead efforts to continue improvements in QA/QC process and fostering a culture of project delivery.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Direct experience in roadway design for transportation projects, preferably in North Carolina
Direct experience in the management of transportation projects or task leadership of roadway design on transportation projects, preferably in North Carolina
Experience with both NCDOT and NC municipal projects a plus.
Effective written and oral communication skills, ability to multi-task, attention to detail.
Enthusiasm and ability to make new connections both internal and external to Stantec.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in the State of North Carolina (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in transportation infrastructure projects is preferred.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some travel to field work sites.
