Robert Half Staff Accountant in Raleigh, North Carolina

Description

We are offering a contract opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the engineering industry, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, 27603, United States. As a Staff Accountant, you will be undertaking a range of responsibilities including project support, account management, and customer service tasks. You will be expected to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent written and communication abilities, and a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Manage project support tasks including project setup, invoicing, document processing, and filing

• Maintain and update project files on a regular basis

• Handle customer inquiries and resolve them in a timely and efficient manner

• Act as the primary contact point for the office and maintain daily communication with the accounting team and project managers

• Set up new projects and obtain necessary authorizations and approvals

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary

• Prepare and process client invoices in compliance with contract terms and specific client needs

• Review contract documents for billing terms and conditions and ensure they are properly entered into the accounting system

• Track monthly unbilled amounts to ensure all projects are reviewed, billed, and processed in a timely manner

• Assist with project reviews and business manager with office and area needs

Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proven experience in a similar role within the Engineering industry

• Comprehensive understanding of general ledger functions and financial statements

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently

• Familiarity with financial regulations and standards

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the field of accounting.
