An industrial equipment manufacturing client of ours has an opening for Vacuum Design Engineer. This role will design components, chambers and systems for the vacuum market segment. This is a direct hire opening! Candidates MUST have experience with ultra high vacuum system requirements as well as testing and qualification of chambers for UHV.

Job Title: Vacuum Design Engineer

Location: Ramsey, MN

Salary: 75-110k, depends on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Creates designs, specifications, models, bills of material and manufacturing drawings along with a team of other engineers and drafters.

• Coordinates efforts with production to ensure that the design meets manufacturability capabilities including tolerance stack up and surface finish.

• Ensures that the intended product or structure will be safe, dependable, cost effective and meet customer or regulatory requirements.

• Builds a prototype if needed, for testing and approval.

• Reviews customer models and drawings for missing or incorrect information required in producing the customer’s part through to completion.

Requirements

• BS Engineering degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Machine Design, Process Design or related field. 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment related to vacuum equipment or vacuum processing.

• AAS degree in relevant field such as Mechanical Design with 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment related to vacuum equipment or vacuum processing.

• Experience with ultra-high vacuum product design and manufacturing required. Direct experience and capabilities for design and manufacture of custom components, chambers and process systems preferred.

• Experience with Vacuum Pumps, Vacuum Leak Checking, Residual Gas Analysis is beneficial.
