Our client in the biometrics industry is seeking a Biometrics Field Support Engineer to join their team. As a Biometrics Field Support Engineer, you will be part of the Field Engineering team supporting customers in Indiana and possibly surrounding states. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be technically proficient, and have experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

What's the Job?

• Provide installation and post-installation support of Biometrics Solutions, including Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems and Facial Recognition Systems at customer locations in Indiana and possibly other locations throughout North America.

• Diagnose and correct difficult and intermittent hardware and software malfunctions arising from design deficiencies, data errors, component failures, and environmental issues.

• Provide hands-on technical assistance and remote support to all users of the AFIS product.

• Act on self-initiative to make necessary corrective action, if possible, or take appropriate action up the chain management in situations where critical system downtime may occur.

• Perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on installed products and equipment, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving malfunctions.

What's Needed?

• Experience with Windows and Linux servers, workstations, and client applications.

• Strong customer-facing experience with excellent communication skills.

• Ability to troubleshoot (locally and remotely) Windows and Linux-based servers, workstations, and have partial hands-on experience with the user applications.

• Knowledge of Linux OS and first-level Oracle database.

• Ability to analyze logs to make a determination as to the cause of problems and to suggest effective problem solutions.
