We are seeking a Construction Services Manager (Project Manager) to join our Sacramento, CA team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • In this role, you will be responsible to work across Northern California to develop new opportunities and clients while also working through existing contracts in the region.

  • This position will manage multiple projects while also serving has a mentor to our developing team members.

  • Work across Northern California to develop and implement a strategic plan to secure PMCM contracts and helps grow our brand presence.

  • Track and develop new client leads.

  • Position the company for contracts as a prime or a major part of a strategic team.

  • Work with company’s marketing production staff to respond to RFP’s and SOQ’s.

  • Manage one or more construction management and construction inspection projects as a Resident Engineer, Project Manager or Contract Manager.

  • The Resident Engineer is responsible for ensuring the contract is built according to plans and specifications, that construction operations provide for the safety of employees and the traveling public and that all changes in the contract are covered by change orders agreed upon by the contractor and the Client. The Resident Engineer is responsible for his/her actions, decisions, quality of work, and proper use of the contract time, equipment, and materials.

  • Responsible for reviewing and approving contract change orders, progress and final pay estimates, comprehensive field reports, and miscellaneous correspondence. Reviews plans and estimates for completeness and accuracy. Prepare comprehensive reports and correspondence; writes reports and conducts engineering investigations to ensure compliance with applicable laws, ordinance, standards, plans and specifications. Assists the Construction Engineer with construction contract claims resolution. Makes Contract Acceptance recommendations.

  • Ensures that project construction conforms to traffic control, environmental, hazardous waste and storm water pollution prevention criteria. Assist with ensuring performance of all safety-related activities. Traffic Management planning. Assist with ensuring compliance with regulations and specifications related to labor and civil rights.

  • Coordinates resources such as equipment, vehicles, offices, construction staking requests and overtime. Assist with ensuring that the project records are maintained per the Construction Manual or Project Manuals.

  • The Resident Engineer must be able to communicate effectively with others including Atlas staff, technical/professional level staff of outside agencies, assistant resident engineers, contractor’s personnel, and members of the public regarding construction projects. Has frequent contact with City and County representative, private contractors, and traveling public. The Resident Engineer must be able to communicate effectively with Contractor’s personnel, property owners and internal personnel. Good communicative skills are essential in carrying out the duties.

  • Provide close coordination of work with agency/owner, contractor, utilities and other stakeholders as required.

  • Implement established project management, construction engineering and inspection safety procedures and guidelines on project(s).

  • Follow prescribed Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures.

  • Identify and hire talented PMCM team members.

  • Provide mentorship, development, and direction to PMCM staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or another related field.

  • Registered Professional Engineer, CCM or Registered Architect in California.

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in construction management of transportation infrastructure projects such as highway, bridge, transit/rail and/or aviation projects.

  • Experience interfacing with multiple jurisdictions and stakeholders on large transit projects.

  • Experience in delivering alternative delivery contracts; PDB, DB, CMGC, etc.

  • Valid CA C Driver’s License with clean driving record is required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proven leadership abilities and demonstrated record of performance in managing multi-million-dollar construction contracts.

  • Ability to manage a multi-disciplined staff of project managers, office engineers, and field engineers/inspectors.

Compensation:

$200K - $260K Annual Salary

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
