KLJ Engineering Design Intern (Summer 2025) in Rapid City, South Dakota

Description As an Engineering Design Intern with KLJ you will assist in providing engineering support to engineers with day-to-day project related tasks. The role will be a great opportunity to get firsthand experience with engineering related projects and to start to utilize your educational background. What will you do? Assists engineer teams in various tasks and duties. Assists Engineer with research, development and design of projects. Assists Engineer with the preparation of engineering drawings and documents as assigned Assist Engineer with construction inspection of infrastructure Apply knowledge of fundamental civil engineering principles and standards to individual project tasks Learn and utilize analysis and design software Ensure compliance with KLJ quality standards Utilize effective written and oral communication What you're responsible for Become familiar with the details of putting together a set of plans Perform basic engineering calculations Organize information for use in drawings or other documents What you'll need Enrolled in a 4 year college studying a degree in Civil Engineering Must possess basic MS Office skills including Word and Excel Must have a valid driver's license and able to operate motorized vehicles Preferences: Previous internship experience in related field Self-starter Physical Requirements The physical demands described represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
