The Associate Director, Global Commercial Strategy, Precision Medicine will have responsibility to support the execution and program management of Janssen’s global commercial Precision Medicine (PMx) strategy, together with key cross-functional partners in the global and regional pharmaceutical organization. Key focus areas will include projects for assigned therapeutic areas, support of above-brand precision medicine team initiatives, and leadership in building precision medicine capabilities across our organization.

The successful candidate should have pharma experience, diagnostics commercial experience, possess scientific/technical competence in genetics, genomics, and precision medicine, and have excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities for this position will include but not limited to:

  • Support the development and implementation of Global Commercial PMx strategy for various companion and complementary diagnostic programs in therapeutic areas such as immunology, neuroscience, specialty ophthalmology, and rare diseases.

  • Provide commercial diagnostics expertise and guidance to precision medicine clinical development programs at various stages of development.

  • Support implementation of plans for successful PMx partnerships to ensure seamless global access to strategic diagnostic solutions that support pharmaceutical brand strategies.

  • Partner internally with R&D, global and regional brand teams, medical affairs, market access, and precision medicine on key initiatives to support development and commercialization of precision medicine assets.

  • Complete pre-launch project activities and deliverables for global and regional TA partners, such as education and training material.

  • Lead activities and events to build internal awareness and capabilities required for long term success for PMx.

  • Coordinate and ensure alignment on resources, budgets, and timelines across for assigned initiatives.

  • Implement process improvements and tracking of key metrics to increase internal efficiencies.

  • Manage consultants/agencies for key projects.

  • Develop internal and external customer relationships that successfully drive business objectives.

  • Establish a productive work environment by creating trust and respect within the Therapeutic Areas (TAs).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • A minimum of 5 year’s experience in the pharmaceutical and/or diagnostic lab industry

  • Experience or knowledge in diagnostics commercialization in rare diseases, specifically with genetic/molecular tests

  • Previous product launch experience in pharmaceuticals or diagnostics

  • Ability to simplify complex technical information to share with appropriate audience

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills – effectively facilitates an environment that demonstrates listening, verbal, and written communications with partners and customers to improve business results. Promotes information sharing within and across teams.

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and is motivated by the challenge of working in a fast-paced and changing environment, exercises calm, sound, constructive judgment during demanding situations

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict, influence teams, and to build relationships in meeting organizational objectives, without formal authority is required

  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale initiatives simultaneously required

  • Ability to prioritize workload to focus energy on highest-value initiatives is required

Travel:

Approximately 20% travel for business, as necessary

Salary:

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $ 118,000 – $203,500

Bonus:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
