The Business Excellence Manager is responsible for generating, integrating, and translating insights and analytics into opportunities that shape decisions and drive organizational action for Enterprise Quality. The manager is a business leader capable of operating at multiple levels with the organization; from supporting project teams to strategic insight and analysis. She/he will contribute to the optimization of operations and processes to efficiently and consistently achieve strategic objectives for Q&C. The Business Excellence Manager will be accountable for maintaining and improving the Value Realization Framework (VRF) to enable value capture including benefit analysis, supporting business case development, and provide guidelines, formats and tools to standardize target setting & tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support development and maintenance of a value realization framework to measure the financial and operational impact of transformation initiatives across the Quality & Compliance organization.

  • Collaborate with project and program managers to establish clear KPIs and ROI targets for initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, including identifying sources of value leveraging a value realization framework.

  • Collaborate closely with the Value Creation Office Portfolio Management team to integrate value tracking and realization into their tools and processes

  • Track and document quantifiable business results achieved from strategic project work, to utilize for communication to demonstrate the business value created by EQ.

  • Support cross-functional teams during business financial reporting cycles through template development and aggregation of financial data to support reporting.

  • Develop and maintain data sources and visualization tools i.e., Tableau, PowerBI to support portfolio financial & benefit performance reporting.

  • Support business excellence framework including ways of working framework.

  • Leads the definition of operational KPIs and metrics to consistently track and measure progress across Q&C strategic objectives and business health.

  • Supports the establishment of internal EQ Operational Analytics capabilities, leveraging data analysis and insights to optimize business processes, enhance efficiency, and inform strategic decision-making within EQ.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors (BA/BS) or equivalent degree required; preferred area of study: Business, IT, Engineering, Supply Chain or Quality/Regulatory. Master’s degree (MA/MBA) preferred

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum of 6-8 years of related experience

  • A visionary, strategic thinker with capability to bring clarity to complex concepts and to mobilize and align the organization to deliver on the strategy and translate strategy into business value

  • Experience establishing and implementing strategic plans for departments

  • Knowledge of Process or Business Excellence, and analytical skills

  • Must be able to document and demonstrate a strong Business and strategic acumen

  • Experience in leading organizations through cost optimization activities and providing guidance on opportunities

  • Experience preparing business cases and capital appropriation requests

  • Create a direct and indirect organization with a culture of global customer focus and the ability to deliver

  • Build interdependent partnerships, and internal and external relationships

  • Advanced problem-solving skills to assist in maintaining project progress and on design issues

  • Excellent listening and analytical skills

  • Possesses financial acumen, and understands how services contribute to cost, and/or revenue

  • Strong Project and Portfolio Management Skills

  • Strong Critical Analysis and decision-making skills

  • Strong Customer Centric mindset, understands one’s stakeholders and their needs and priorities and can drive service excellence by focusing on customer value

  • Advanced MS Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills is required

  • Advanced Visualization skills with programs such as Tableau and PowerBI

  • Advanced level of proactivity and resourcefulness to solve problems

  • Advanced ability to team with others and drive towards a common goal

  • Sets clear performance standards and drives to results

  • Works effectively in a virtual team environment

  • Outstanding communicator with exceptional skills to influence effectively with all levels

Preferred:

  • Experience in Supply Chain, Commercial, and/or R&D

  • Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training and certification

  • High level proficiency in J&J applications & technologies (Office & productivity tools)

  • Diverse business and cross-segment experience

  • Experience leading annual strategic and financial processes across segment/department/function level.

Other:

  • Fluent in English reading, writing and speaking

  • 10% domestic and international travel may be required

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $172,500

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position, in California Bay Area, is $114,000 to $197,800

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
