A Day in the Life of aBehavioral Health Redesign (BHR) Benefits Specialist:
The Behavioral Health Redesign (BHR) Benefits Specialist assists Behavioral Health Center clients across Wyoming with completing enrollment documents and determining eligibility for state supported services, Medicaid, the Childrens Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) and the federal Insurance Marketplace.This position will provide assistance and training to Behavioral Health Centers within the assigned region.This is a grant funded position.

Here Is What You Will Be Doing:
Work with Administrative Assistant or with Behavioral Health Center to set up meetings with consumers, either face to face or virtually, at a level consistent with departmental goals.
Explains eligibility, benefits, cost-sharing, and appeals processes to consumers.
Assesses client needs, determines eligibility, identifies appropriate resources, provides all necessary information to the client, and makes contacts with other agencies on behalf of the client if necessary.
Ensures services provided are in the interest of the consumer as their client, not the insurer.
Provides information to individuals and families in a way that can be understood, in a culturally sensitive manner, for those with low-proficiency English, and people with disabilities who have special communication needs.
Maintains accurate and complete client data records by collecting all demographics.
Helps people understand how premium tax credits work, and their potential financial impact.
Accurately records transaction information on all caller contacts.
Serves a specific regional population which may include low-income, disadvantaged and hard to reach populations. Assists and covers other regions as needed.
Work with Behavioral Health Centers within specific region and provide training to Center staff.
Travel to all Behavioral Health Centers within designated region.
Assist and cover other regions as needed.

Knowledge of federal insurance marketplace and programs
Highly developed organizational skills
Extensive knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office and database programs
Detail oriented with advanced organizational skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultural and socio-economic populations
Ability to travel to different sites, including some overnight stays
Here Is What You Will Need:
High school diploma (or equivalent certificate from an accredited program) or higher degree
Must live in assigned region per grant requirements (Sweetwater, Uinta, and Carbon County)
Valid USA drivers license
Must have clean driving record that follows Cheyenne Regional Medical Centers driving guidelines
15 Days:Federal Marketplace Navigator training within fifteen (15) workings days of hire
Nice to Have:
Associates degree or higher
Three (3) or more years of computer experience
Experience with database programs
Experience with Exchange, Medicaid and other public programs and the private insurance market in the state
