Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for power distribution, low voltage infrastructure design for IT and security systems, lighting design, low-voltage systems including fire alarm, security and controls, calculating loads, fault current, and voltage drop, performing field surveys, and construction phase support.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution systems, including riser diagrams and panel schedules.

• Create low voltage infrastructure designs for IT and security systems.

• Develop lighting designs, including fixture selection, controls, and lighting calculations.

• Design low-voltage systems such as fire alarms, security, and controls.

• Calculate electrical loads, fault current, and voltage drop.

• Conduct field surveys and provide support during the construction phase.

Essential Skills

• Associates or Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Design

• Proficiency in Revit.

• Experience in power distribution and low-voltage systems.

• Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and standard industry design practices.

• 2-5 years of experience in MEP electrical engineering

Work Environment

The work environment is within a small to medium-sized firm with approximately 25 employees. The company focuses on MEP for industrial and commercial projects and is expanding into cannabis manufacturing grow houses. The culture is anti-corporate, friendly, and emphasizes work-life balance. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00
