Hackensack Meridian Health Supervisor, Radiology Operations - Full Time in Red Bank, New Jersey

The Supervisor, Radiology Operations will work collaboratively and effectively with Radiology Leadership and the Chair of Radiology to facilitate the implementation of Imaging policies and procedures along with programs and workflows to support quality, finance and growth of the department. The Supervisor, Radiology Operations is directly responsible for maximizing efficient operational patient flow of the imaging support functions, clerical staff, and clinical operations, as needed. Participates as an important member of the department's management team to help address and resolve broad management/administrative issues such as planning for future programs and services, procedure coding and revenue capture, cost monitoring and control, patient scheduling, patient and staff safety, workflows, operational monitoring, regulatory compliance, public relations and the overall timeliness and quality of services provided to customers in assigned sections and across the department.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Supervisor of Radiology Operations at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  1. Coordinates and maximizes efficient imaging operational patient flow, increases patient satisfaction scores through developing and implementation of ongoing improvement plans as set forth by HMH and local facility goals.

  2. Responsible for supervising Imaging support staff, timely recruitment of a high-quality workforce, proper orientation and training of new employees, employee development, staffing schedule, and effective coordination of daily activities, and employee satisfaction within the workplace.

  3. Networks with current and new referring physicians offices to continue building referral business.

  4. Acts as liaison between the Radiology department, leadership, physicians, and other departments.

  5. Ensures that all credentialing, State and JC Standards are met in collaboration with modality leaders.

  6. Develops and maintains statistical, financial, volume analysis and variance reporting, referral data, PI projects as appropriate.

  7. Maintains weekly and monthly statistics for the imaging department based on ongoing PI projects.

  8. Thorough working knowledge of imaging coding, authorizations, and insurance requirements for all imaging studies.

  9. Participates in imaging testing scheduling, coordination between referring physicians and the imaging department.

  10. Attends education; programs and insurance- in-services as required to ensure up to date knowledge of the industry.

  11. Attends meetings, collaborates to track grants and department contracts as assigned by leadership.

  12. Leads specific, assigned projects to ensure on-time and on-budget completion to the highest standards.

  13. Initiates coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, and performance evaluations for direct report staff.

  14. Other duties and/or projects as assigned

  15. Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.

  16. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  1. Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in healthcare business and/or imaging operations

  2. Intermediate knowledge of budgeting and data collection processes

  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  4. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  1. Associates degree in related field of healthcare and/ or healthcare administration.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

  1. Certified in any imaging modality

  2. Medical coding
