Defense Logistics Agency Supervisory Distribution Facilities Specialist in Red River Army Depot, Texas

Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring mission requirements associated with physical distribution, COSIS/Stock Readiness, and Item Data operations. Responsible for ensuring mission requirements associated with inventory accountability/accuracy, suspended materials, discrepancy reports, and customer support are completed effectively and efficiently. Analyzes the efficiency of receiving, storage, shipping, and packing procedures and system programming on customer support. Determines actions required for implementation and coordinates with functional personnel. Participates in problem- solving meetings and conferences. Performs workload analysis, working directly with depot and management personnel in development of plans concerning workload processing. Analyzes daily workload data and determines capabilities of labor and resources for Operations Support personnel. May perform physical counts of material in warehouse locations. Performs independent analysis, at times resolving difficult issues and problems across all physical distribution functions performed at the depot. Evaluates, interprets, and monitors implementation of policy, systems and procedural changes. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for a Supervisory Distribution Facilities Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Perform analytical assignments involving specific issues associated with supply operations. Compile, analyze and summarize information relating to supply requirements. B. Education Substitution: Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To qualify based on education in lieu of specialized experience, you must possess: To qualify at the GS- I I grade level based on education in lieu of specialized experience, applicants must possess Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Combination: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for grade levels GS-11 and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Demands: Performs moderate to heavy lifting (up to 40 pounds; if items weigh in excess of 40 pounds request assistance). Moves material by hand or by hand truck. Heavier material is moved by material handling equipment, or with the assistance of co-workers. Some effort may be involved in opening or sealing crates, cartons, drums, and other containers. Work requires standing and/or walking for lengthy periods of time and often requires bending, stooping pushing, and/or pulling material. Work Environment: Work is performed in a warehouse environment or at outside work areas on a year-round basis. Subject to inclement weather when working in open storage areas or on docks. Incumbent may be subject to cuts, bruises, abrasions, and scrapes, when moving or handling equipment. Also subject to hazards involved in working in close proximity to moving equipment such as conveyors, tow-line systems, and material handling equipment. In addition, may also be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, solvents, and to high noise levels in mechanized work areas. When working with hazardous materials, may be subject to exposure from radiation, toxins, explosive hazards, or chemical fumes. Education Are you using your education to qualify? GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study.
