Actalent Electrical Test Engineer in Redmond, Washington

Job Title: Electrical Test Engineer

Location: Redmond, WA

Shift: Second Shift (2:00pm- 11:00pm)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Test Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating software and hardware systems, creating detailed hardware test plans and procedures, and driving products through verification and early manufacturing runs. The role involves hands-on testing and debugging of programmable electronics hardware using various electrical test equipment. You will also develop or deploy automated scripts for requirements verification and validation, and work closely with software engineers to bring-up and test new hardware designs.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate software and hardware systems.

  • Create detailed hardware test plans and procedures.

  • Drive products through verification and early manufacturing runs.

  • Perform hands-on testing and debugging of programmable electronics hardware using electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, etc.).

  • Develop or deploy automated scripts for requirements verification and validation.

  • Work with engineering documentation including electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, requirements documentation, interface control, and version control.

  • Develop hardware in the loop testing for high volume applications (e.g., automotive, consumer electronics).

  • Utilize hardware and software tools for test automation (e.g., Python, C/C++).

  • Participate in rapid iteration prototypes and joint hardware/firmware development.

  • Partner with software engineers to bring-up and test new hardware designs.

  • Work with several communications protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, Ethernet, CAN-FD, RS-232/422/485, GPIB).

  • Apply engineering best practices & patterns for the full software/hardware development life cycle, including design reviews, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and certification.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Solid understanding of Electrical Engineering and test fundamentals.

  • 5+ years of experience in hardware verification for aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics products.

  • Experience developing requirements, plans, and procedures for product design verification.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Excellent board level electrical circuit troubleshooting and debug skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with hardware verification, PCB design, and testing.

  • Experience with hardware bring-up, microcontrollers, SOCs, FPGAs, power supplies, electric motors, high-speed, and RF.

  • Knowledge of engineering documentation (electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, requirements documentation, interface control, version control).

  • Familiarity with hardware and software tools for test automation (e.g., Python, C/C++).

  • Knowledge of various communications protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, Ethernet, CAN-FD, RS-232/422/485, GPIB). 

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00
