The team’s charter is to build-out Microsoft’s end-to-end cloud infrastructure while driving down unit cost of capacity, ensuring cloud services achieve both profit and gross margin growth. As a crucial member of the team, you will support long-term bets and drive intelligence to keep Microsoft Cloud while enhancing transparency into cloud infrastructure investments, and safeguarding shareholder value.

We currently have an opening for a Senior Finance Manager - AI & Windows to join the Artificial Intelligence (AI), Windows & Consumer Finance team supporting the engineering teams within the Windows & Consumer engineering group. Responsibilities

In this role you will partner with engineering and business leaders to deeply understand, influence, and manage the gross margin health of the overall Office Consumer Profit & Loss (P&L) as well as model, plan, and implement structural efficiencies, long term bets, and regional expansions. The MSIO Office Consumer team partners with engineering, business planning, and finance partners to support the gross margin health of Office Consumer businesses.

This role is a opportunity to:

  • Lead the monetization and pricing conversations for Office Consumer and driving AI value integrating Copilot with business planning, revenue, and engineering to recommend pricing, analyze performance and risks to drive margins.

  • Ownership of the entire Consumer P&L across including Gross Margin planning for both long term and in year forecasts, investment decision support, and engineering partnership to drive resource optimization and execution across workloads.

  • Lead executive forums to influence key decision areas around margins, cost optimizations and investments to drive margin accretive decisions.

  • Partner with engineering teams & engineering leaders to drive product profitability. Identify and drive partnership with Azure engineering & finance, security for cross-functional cost efficiencies and resource optimization.

  • Partner with the engineering and product marketing teams to support end-to-end product planning, long-term steady state profitability strategies. Articulate findings into appropriate deliverables to facilitate executive decision making across executive business and finance leaders.

  • Continuously improve and evolve gross margin insights garnered through financial results and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with goal of influencing/impacting business in positive manner and crisp story telling.

  • Manage the financial health of new and existing workloads through insightful reporting, accurate forecasting, and long-range planning aligned to steady state gross margin targets

  • Ensure right alignment with revenue and central finance teams to land targets and manage gross margin health

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or MBA preferred

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with progressive advancement within your discipline

  • Analytical skills and strategic thinking

  • Proven data and financial modeling capabilities and ability to work with financial systems

  • Ability to communicate complex analysis in a simple way. Executive level oral and written communication skills.

  • Proven leadership skills, with demonstrated results in proactively driving and delivering high value/high-impact project results through both individual and v-team efforts

  • Self-starter driving in-class decision support in ambiguous environments

  • Partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence others without direct authority and appropriately push back when required

  • Comfort working at multiple altitudes, from strategic/high-level projects to detailed Cost Of Goods Sold analysis

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines, quickly prioritize for impact and the resourcefulness to deliver

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
