As a Senior Software Engineer on the Windows AI team you will use your background in UX development, expertise in React and keen eye for design to craft rich, immersive experiences for our users, leveraging AI to deliver seamless and intuitive interfaces. Responsibilities

  • UX Development:  Design and implement high-quality user interfaces using React, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.

  • AI Integration:  Collaborate with AI engineers to integrate intelligent features into the UI, enhancing functionality and user interaction.

  • Consumer Services:  Develop and optimize consumer-facing applications, focusing on performance, usability, and accessibility.

  • Design Collaboration:  Work closely with designers to translate design concepts into functional user interfaces, maintaining consistency and visual appeal.

  • Code Quality:  Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following practices and industry standards.

  • Performance Optimization:  Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring the application runs smoothly across various devices and platforms.

  • Testing and Debugging:  Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the reliability and robustness of the application.

  • Mentorship:  Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative development environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years software engineering experience with a focus on UX development and coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Proficiency in the following technical skills and tools: ReAct and JavaScript/TypeScript, modern web technologies (HTML5,CSS3), front-end build tools and workflows (Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn), and version control systems (Git).• Experience in creating visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces and working closely with designers to translate design concepts into functional applications. • Experience developing consumer-facing applications, with a deep understanding of user behavior and needs.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years software engineering experience with a focus on UX development and coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience with AI and machine learning technologies.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and practices.

  • Familiarity with Windows development environments.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
