Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

The Microsoft Protection & SOC team is responsible for delivering a constantly evolving set of services and solutions to meet the challenging landscape of our ever-evolving attackers.    This is a data platform team which provides leadership, direction, and accountability for cloud design, service architecture, engineering infrastructure, and data platform development. You will help conduct business reviews and operate our production services. Strong collaboration skills will be required to work closely with other engineering teams to ensure services and systems are highly stable, performant and meet the expectations of internal and external customers and users. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer you would be responsible for the architectural design and implementation of Large scale data platforms Data platforms and microservices Cloud services infrastructure Engineering systems in order to process and handle both consumer and enterprise level customer scenarios and data. You will be responsible for working with various disciplines in order to address customers’ needs and create new scenarios and features that provide customer value.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

o OR equivalent experience.

. 3+ years of development experience with data platform and building distributed data pipelines

. 3+ years of experience with CI\CD concepts and source control

Other Requirements:

. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

o OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

o OR equivalent experience.

. Proven experience with building and supporting services, including logging, monitoring, alerting, and measuring reliability and availability.

. Ability to design and build proof of concepts

. Ability to manage multiple project phases at the same time

. Ability to thrive with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment.

. Support a 24x7 live site support model for the services the team owns.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
